It looks like one of the announcements set for this week’s PlayStation Showcase may have leaked early. Over the weekend, listings for Alan Wake Remastered appeared on Rakuten Taiwan’s website. The game will apparently release for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 among other platforms.
When Twitter user Wario64 shared the listings online, known insider and Niko Partners’ senior analyst Daniel Ahmed declared that Alan Wake Remastered will be announced this week. Ahmed didn’t mention the PlayStation Showcase but, understandably, the speculation is that it’ll be announced on Thursday, September 9th.
Alan Wake Remastered has been rumored for a long time, and ever since Remedy Entertainment announced rights to the IP, fans wondered if future releases will be multi-platform. That certainly seems to be the case. In June, references to the remaster were found on the Epic Games Store’s back end, cementing the belief that an announcement was imminent.
“The only thing we want to clarify, now that Remedy owns the publishing rights, is that we could bring Alan Wake to different platforms if we so choose,” the studio said back in 2019. “When we create a game universe we take great care when we think about them: we don’t just throw them together. We’re looking at all Remedy games to have a continuity, like they can be seen as a shared thing.”
The PlayStation Showcase will kick off on the 9th at 1 pm PT / 4 pm ET. Stay tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle as we’ll be hosting the event right here for our readers.[Source: Twitter]
