Apex Legends Season 9 to Feature ‘a Ton’ of Titanfall Content

While we haven’t got a proper entry in the Titanfall series since 2016, Apex Legends’ ninth season is set to have “a ton of Titanfall coming back into the game, one way or another.”

As reported by Dexerto, a number of Apex Legends developers from Respawn appeared on a panel hosted by BrownGirlGamerCode and discussed how Titanfall fans have “some really cool stuff” to look forward to.

“Next season, Season 9, you’re actually going to see a ton of Titanfall coming back into the game, in one way or another,” Apex Legends game director Chad Grenier promised. “I’ve told some people before, if you’re a Titanfall fan, hang on for Season 9 because there’s gonna be some really cool stuff there.”

Apex’s senior writer Ashley Reed discussed how intrinsically tied together both Apex Legends and Titanfall are, and how this next step is simply a natural evolution.

“What’s going on in Titanfall is a war, Apex is what happens after the war, like what is life like in this place?” Reed explained. “So we’re trying to integrate Titanfall into that, because Titanfall’s very much a part of the universe.”

Titanfall weapons and the massive Leviathans/Moyais have already been featured in Apex Legends, but this appears to be something much more.

While anything is possible, those hoping for actual giant mechs to drop from the sky in Apex should remember Respawn had previously mentioned that it “prototyped approximately a bazillion ways of having titans in this game. The reality was, they were an incredible unbalancing factor.”

Titans or not, there should be exciting news ahead for Titanfall and Apex Legends fans in the future, and a bit of brighter news following Respawn’s comments in 2019 that it wasn’t currently working on Titanfall 3.
