BioWare Reassures Fans It’s Still ‘Hard at Work’ on Dragon Age 4, Releases Two Short Stories

As part of Dragon Age Day 2021 celebrations, BioWare penned a lengthy letter to fans in which it offered reassurance that the team is still “hard at work” on the next “single-player focused experience” for Dragon Age. More information has been teased for 2022.

To hold us over, BioWare has released two Dragon Age short stories: Won’t Know When (penned by Brianne Battye) and The Flame Eternal (by Sylvia Feketekuty). Synopsis for both can be read below:

Won’t Know When

For the Grey Wardens, danger lurks around every corner. Two Wardens must decide what that means for their future.

The Flame Eternal

A pair of Necromancers investigate what torments a distressed inhabitant of the Grand Necropolis.

Dragon Age is reportedly only in development for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S due to limitations of the older hardware. Recently, the series’ senior creative director, Matthew Goldman, left BioWare after a cumulative 20 years at the company. According to studio GM Gary McKay, Goldman’s departure won’t impact Dragon Age 4‘s development and the team’s commitment to “a high-quality Dragon Age game has not waivered.” “We will not ship a game that is not up to BioWare’s standards,” McKay promised in an internal email.

We’ll update our readers when we have more information.
