Fortnite: Where to Find and How to Tame RaptorsIGN 31 March, 2021Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 6 is full of surprises. The latest of which is the arrival of velociraptors. Roaming the map and attacking anything in sight, these deadly dinosaurs aren’t to be trifled with. Unless, of course, you’re carrying the right materials. How to Tame Raptors in FortniteThe raptors that roam the map aren’t friendly. They hunt in packs, are agile, and their bites do a lot of damage. That said, they’re still tameable. You just need a few scraps of meat and a little luck. You can get meat from killing any other animal on the map. Once you have the meat, toss it in the direction of the raptor. Just like taming boars and wolves in Fortnite, the raptor will become enamored by the prospect of eating, let its guard down, and become tamable. You can now safely approach the raptor and press the button/key to interact. The problem with this method is that the raptors eat really fast, easily gulping down a piece of meat in one bite. Because of this, it can be hard to finish taming one before it becomes hostile again. To make matters worse, if there are any other raptors nearby, your prey will call out to them. It only takes a second or two before you’re surrounded/getting bitten by multiple dinosaurs – we’ve died several times while trying to subdue these creatures.Use The Hunter’s Cloak to Tame RaptorsThe best method to tame raptors is by crafting a Hunter’s Cloak using four bones and one piece of meat. When you’ve spotted your prey, don the cloak and run up to them. You should be able to tame the raptor right away (even without meat) as the cloak keeps them docile long enough to be domesticated.Where to Find Raptors in FortniteRaptors don’t seem to spawn on any given spot on the map. Even though their broken eggs can be seen in certain spots, these dinosaurs tend to roam all over. That said, we were able to lock down an area where you’re most likely to see a few. Shown on the map below, raptors seemed to appear in the area that encompasses The Spire, Boney Burbs, and Weeping Woods. You should be able to hear them calling out even before you see them. That’s not to say that they won’t spawn elsewhere. We also saw some in the areas around Colossal Crops. Multiple raptors always seemed to spawn in the area shown above though. They were constantly seen running in pairs near houses, roads, and rivers.Raptors make the best pets. They’re faster than wolves, do more damage to players and structures, and they’re dinosaurs. We’re here for the Jurassic Park vibes! [poilib element=”accentDivider”]Kenneth Seward Jr. is a freelance writer, editor, and illustrator who covers games, movies, and more.
