Polyphony Digital has released the Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.15 today, a substantial patch that brings three new cars, Birthday Present Tickets, and endgame Menu Books in Café mode. It also includes numerous quality-of-life improvements and fixes an exploit that some players have been using to get faster times.
A few highlights in the meaty GT7 Patch 1.15
First and foremost, the patch adds three new cars that are purchasable at Brand Central: Roadster Shop Rampage, Toyota GR010 HYBRID ’21, and SUZUKI Vision Gran Turismo. In Café mode, Menu Books No. 40, 41, and 42 have been included to bolster the endgame, requiring players to have finished the Championship: World GT Series and earned a specific Collector Level to access them.
This update thankfully focuses on Gr.1 events, with Menu Book No. 42 highlighting the Gr.1 Prototype series which has now been added to the World Circuits. The Lightweight K-Cup and Vision Gran Turismo Trophy from the other two Menu Books have joined World Circuits as well.
Along for the ride are several new features, including new Online Time Trials for Sport mode and Birthday Present Tickets that you can claim a week before or after the date of birth you registered on your PSN account. You can also finally export photos you’ve taken in Scapes or Race Photo mode to your console’s gallery.
As for quality-of-life improvements, you’ll receive notifications when new Missions are unlocked after leveling up and you shouldn’t receive as many penalties now for minor contacts in Sports mode or in Lobby. In terms of cheating, the developers have noticed that some cars would drive unnaturally faster after running over kerbstones, so this update fixes this “gutter run” trick.
That said, Gran Turismo 7 fans are still waiting for the patch that will allow them to sell cars. According to a Reddit thread on the update, the number of Toyota 86, Subaru BRZ, and go-kart cars have been clogging up the collection for many players.
