Manfrotto has announced a new line of modular support products. The ‘Move‘ line is designed to ‘increase pace on set, making changing setups effortless for both photography and filmmaking.’ Manfrotto continues, ‘Move your camera seamlessly, transition from shot to shot without hesitation, without friction.’

The Move lineup of products includes solutions for support, motion and stabilization. The core of the new system is the Manfrotto Move Quick Release System, Manfrotto Move Gim-Pod and Manfrotto Move Gimbal.

Starting with the Quick Release System, it’s a lightweight base and plate system which you attach to your equipment, allowing for fast transitions from platform to platform without the needing to add or remove individual components and parts. You add the base to your various support equipment, like a tripod, and the plate to your camera. In combination, the system allows for 360° of motion, and you can lock your gear into place with a simple place and twist no matter where exactly you put the plate. There’s not a particular locking point or any dots to line up. It’s an expandable system as well. You could put a Catcher directly onto your tripod legs and put Plates on different tripod heads, allowing for quick-swapping of photo and video tripod heads on an individual tripod.

Manfrotto’s X LOCK system promises increased rigidity and security for your kit, as well. The anodized aluminum Quick Release Plate and Quick Release Catcher aim to eliminate the need for specific plates and accessories for different support systems. Thanks to its universal 3/8″ connection standard, you can quickly transition your gear from photo tripod to video tripod to slider system and more. The Move Quick Release System weighs 220g (7.76 oz.), and Manfrotto says it can support a payload up to 20kg (44lbs), so it should be suitable for just about any camera equipment.

Alongside the Move Quick Release System, Manfrotto has also introduced the 300XM Gimbal. The gimbal features a modular design, and its stabilizing head and electronic controls are separable. You can even use the gimbal head on a tripod or slider if you want to build a shooting platform that can be remotely controlled, as the head and controls can communicate wirelessly via Bluetooth.

The Manfrotto Gim-Pod is an accessory leg set for Manfrotto’s Gimboom. You can attach the legs to the Gimboom to turn it into a tripod. There’s a new Gimboom leveling Quick Release Plate, which offsets the tilt in the Gimboom.

The Manfrotto Move Quick Release Catcher costs $90, and the Quick Release Plate retails for $25. However, you can purchase both in a bundle for $100, saving you $15.
