Multiplayer Dodgebrawler Knockout City Shutting Down After 2 YearsPS4 3 February, 20233 February, 2023Velan Studios has surprised fans with the news that Knockout City servers are shutting down for good two years after launch and only a year after the game became free-to-play.Knockout City servers will shut down on June 6, 2023Knockout City was originally launched by Electronic Arts and quickly grabbed attention for its unique multiplayer concept. On the game’s first anniversary, Velan Studios took over publishing duties, and in partnership with Epic Games, offered Knockout City as a free-to-play title. In an official statement, Velan announced that Knockout City will shut down permanently on the morning of June 6th.As for why it’s shutting down, Velan said that although Knockout City has millions of players, it was a small studio’s first foray into live service, which means that the game has quite a few underlying issues. Unfortunately, these issues require a massive overhaul, which isn’t possible for Velan to achieve simultaneously while continuing to support and keep Knockout City live. The game’s going out in style, though. Knockout City’s ninth and final season will have six back-to-back events featuring new cosmetics and popular playlists. However, everything will have to be earned in-game as Velan will remove all real currency transactions from Knockout City on February 28th.The post Multiplayer Dodgebrawler Knockout City Shutting Down After 2 Years appeared first on PlayStation LifeStyle.
