PS5 Game Captures Can Now Be Shared Through the PlayStation App in the Americas

0

Sony has extended the ability for players to share their PS5 game capture screenshots and clips through the PlayStation App on their phones to more countries. Previously only available in Japan and Canada, the feature has now been extended to the Americas where the PS App is available.

Where is the PS5 game captures feature available on the PS app?

According to the list on Sony’s support page, players can now share their PS5 game captures through the PlayStation app in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Japan, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, United States and Uruguay. More countries will be added to the list next month.

Players in the above countries need to download the latest PlayStation app update on iOS or Android to access the feature. Your PS5 console will then automatically upload game capture clips and screenshots to the cloud as long as it is linked to the PlayStation app, it is left in Rest mode, and the Stay Connected to the Internet setting has been enabled.

Game captures must meet certain criteria to be uploaded to the app. Gameplay videos are restricted to under three minutes long and can’t be 4K resolution. Screenshots will only be uploaded if they were taken from the Create Menu or Create button shortcuts. Once uploaded, they’ll be accessible in the PlayStation app for 14 days. Game captures can be saved to mobile devices, shared to a party through Game Base, or shared through other supported apps.

In other news, Sony has already teased a sequel to the Uncharted movie even though the movie has only been in theaters for a few days. Uncharted has already been dubbed a “new hit movie franchise” after grossing more than $100 million in its opening weekend. Elsewhere, ex-Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 developers have formed a new studio called Rebel Wolves and they’re currently making a AAA dark fantasy RPG built in Unreal Engine 5.
