The House of the Dead Remake PS4 Version Discovered on PSN Backend

The House of the Dead Remake is only confirmed for Nintendo Switch at the moment, but a PS4 version of the game has been discovered on the PlayStation Network backend. While developer MegaPixel Studio and publisher Forever Entertainment are yet to make an official announcement, official documents had hinted at a multi-platform release previously and it might not be too far away.

Will House of the Dead Remake be released for PS4?

The PS4 version of The House of the Dead Remake has got a title ID and official image on the PlayStation Network, as spotted by Reddit. There is no further information regarding a release date or anything else for that matter. However, Forever Entertainment has previously revealed the game was intended to be a multiplatform release. Their 2019 annual report listed the game for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Google Stadia, Steam, and Epic Games Store alongside the already announced Nintendo Switch version.

The remake of the on-rails shooter will take the 1997 arcade game and apply upgraded graphics and audio. The campaign is exactly the same; Dr. Roy Curien’s latest project aims to discover the nature of life and death but has only succeeded in creating a dangerous army of undead creatures. When an outbreak occurs, his colleague Sophie Richards calls upon her fiance, AMS agent Thomas Rogan, and his colleague G to put a stop to it and save all of the employees at the Curien Mansion in Europe. The remake will also include new game modes.

The Nintendo Switch version is due to be released digitally on April 7, with a physical version launching on May 26 in Europe and June 14 in North America. It’s unlikely the game will be stealth-dropped on PS4 during April, but we can likely expect a release later this year.

In other news, Bandai Namco Entertainment has changed its logo. The aim is to express “the potential of the brand to connect with people around the world and inspire them with amazing ideas.” Elsewhere, a new Tomb Raider game was announced during today’s Unreal Engine 5 showcase.
