The Last of Us 2 actor Derek Phillips, who played the role of Abby Anderson’s father Jerry, seems to be a busy man. Phillips is already working on his third motion capture project since the Naughty Dog game launched, and given his lengthy video game resume, we can only wonder which high-profile studio has tapped him this time. As spotted by Video Games Chronicle, Phillips teased an “epic” project over on his Instagram.
The Last of Us 2 multiplayer is in development

Naughty Dog is rumored to be involved in multiple The Last of Us projects. The only one that has been confirmed thus far is the standalone multiplayer game. The other two are reportedly The Last of Us 2 Director’s Cut and a PS5 version of the original The Last of Us. The latter two haven’t officially been announced but their existence has been confirmed by several reliable leakers. It doesn’t seem likely that Phillips would be redoing motion capture work for either of the two games but he might have a role in the multiplayer game.
The above is just speculation, of course. As previously mentioned, Phillips is no stranger to video games and has already held roles in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Vanguard since The Last of Us 2’s release, so it’s also possible that he’s back on the next Call of Duty game, or a different project entirely. Unfortunately, the last time Phillips announced a motion capture project on Twitter, he was hounded by players who were still upset over Abby’s role, prompting him to clarify that he’s not working on anything related to The Last of Us. Even if he is now, he’ll probably keep it under wraps for his own sanity.VGC]
