The Last of Us Part 1 was another big release for PlayStation Studios in September. With a release date at the start of the month, you would expect The Last of Us Part 1 to storm the PS Store downloads chart, but it was beaten by two sports games — FIFA 23 and NBA 2K23 — released much later in the month.

PS4 and PS5 PS Store Top Downloads in September 2022

NBA 2K23 took the top spot in the PS5 and PS4 downloads chart in North America while FIFA 23 was crowned the most popular game on PS5 and PS4 in Europe. The Last of Us Part 1, which was only released on PS5, only made it to the third spot in the PS Store downloads chart in both regions behind both of the aforementioned games.
