TTartisan announces new $69 50mm F2 full-frame lens, $469 35mm F2 APO ASPH for M-mountDPR 15 July, 2022TTartisan’s new 50mm F2 lens on a Sony a7R IV.Optics manufacturer TTartisan has announced two upcoming manual prime lenses: a 35mm F2 APO ASPH lens for Leica M-mount and a 50mm F2 lens for full-frame mirrorless camera systems.TTartisan 50mm F2TTartisan’s new 50mm F2 is constructed of six elements in five groups with the two rear-most elements being High-Refractive Index (HR) elements. It uses a 10-blade aperture diaphragm, has a minimum focusing distance of 50cm (19.7”) and uses a 43mm front filter thread.The lens is fully manual, featuring a dedicated aperture ring as well as a focus ring with distance markings. The Micro Four Thirds and L-mount version measures 60mm (2.4”) in diameter by 35mm (1.38”) long and weighs around 190g. the Canon RF, Canon EOS M, Fujifilm X, Nikon Z and Sony E mount versions are slightly larger and heavier, depending on what mount you go with. On APS-C cameras, this will equate to roughly a 75mm lens with the exception of MFT, where it’ll be a 100mm full-frame equivalent lens.The TTartisan 50mm F2 for full-frame mirrorless camera systems will be available to purchase starting tomorrow for $69 through TTartisan’s online shop.35mm F2 APO ASPHThe 35mm F2 APO ASPH for Leica M-mount is constructed of 12 elements in 9 groups, including two extra-low dispersion elements and one aspherical element. It uses a 10-blade aperture diaphragm, has a minimum focusing distance of 70cm (27.6”) and uses a 52mm front filter thread.The lens is fully manual and comes with a rectangular lens hood with a cutout in the top corner for improved composition with rangefinder cameras. Without the lens hood, the lens measures 60mm (2.4”) in diameter by 77mm (3”) long, weighing in at roughly 510g (18oz).TTartisan’s new 35mm F2 APO ASPH for Leica M-mount will be available to purchase starting tomorrow for $469 through TTartisan’s online shop.
