Xbox Console Exclusive Action RPG, The Ascent, Has Been Rated for the PS5 and PS4

It looks like Xbox console exclusive The Ascent is headed to the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, if a rating board entry is anything to go by. As spotted by Gematsu, Taiwan’s rating board recently listed the action shooter role-playing game for Sony’s consoles, just two months after developer Neon Giant told PlayStation players to keep an eye out.

Published by Curve Digital, The Ascent is set in a science-fiction cyberpunk world, and comes with both solo and co-op modes. An official overview reads:

The Ascent will see players dive into ‘The Ascent Group’ arcology, a self-contained corporate-run metropolis, stretching high into the sky and filled with creatures from all over the galaxy. Taking on the role of an indentured worker, the world starts to go haywire when The Ascent Group shuts down for unknown reasons. Life becomes a case of survival, with rival corporations and crime syndicates looking to fill the empty space. Players will have to take up arms and hold them off. The Ascent begins here.

Back in October, The Ascent‘s official Twitter account told a follower, who expressed the desire to see the game on the PS5, that Neon Giant wants fans to know that “we hear you and the team are aware of the demand for a PS5 version.”

It’s possible that an announcement is planned for The Game Awards. We’ll keep our readers posted.
